First spiking silicon cochlea with per-channel automatic gain control accepted to IEEE T-CAS1

We are happy to announce that our paper "Spiking Cochlea With System-Level Local Automatic Gain Control" co-authored by Ilya Kiselev, Chang Gao, and Shih-Chii Liu was accepted to the flagship journal of the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society (see arxiv preprint here). This paper shows the first implementation of a system-level local automatic gain control (AGC) for a spiking silicon cochlea. This AGC improves audio digit recognition significantly when the sound ranges over a huge range of volumes, even for a DNN classifier.
Congratulations to Ilya and Chang.
